Lindsey Geores, marketing director for Shore Excursions of America, said the quick tours are a great way to get passengers out into whatever city their riverboat is docked. She said this not only allows the passengers to view the sites, but also to enjoy shopping experiences unique to each location.
“We hear all the time from the smaller river towns about the economic impact these tours have,” Geores said. “It’s a great opportunity for mom-and-pop shops to get more exposure, as we’re bringing in people from all over the world.”
