Since starting Shore Excursions, Buesing and Palmeri are looking to grow the business tours to events such as Musikfest and attractions such as the Crayola Experience in Easton.
Others have tried the concept. Earlier this year, Bethlehem-based Trans-Bridge Tours launched Lehigh Valley Receptive, offering groups package tours spotlighting the region.Business, however, has been “very slow,” says Tom JeBran, president of Trans-Bridge Tours. Possibly, he said, because the region doesn’t get enough marketing dollars needed to promote the area.
Michael Stershic, Discover Lehigh Valley president, said he and others in the tourism business grapple with how to entice people on group tours. He thinks it helps to have people with the travel expertise of JeBran, Buesing and Palmeri.
